I just tried their habanero chicken sandwich and it was awesome! It wasn’t too hot, actually it was a little hot imo it was perfect. Had a little kick. The fries were great and food tasted fresh. Wife had the hog heaven and son had the rib burger and they both loved it with their sweet potato fries. You have to try this place.

Party of 10, we were celebrating my son in law's completion of basic training at Lackland AFB! The manager went above and beyond. My order was missing the chicken strips, and my half rack of ribs was very dry. He accepted responsibility and quickly brought a fresh order that was delicious. As we were sitting and talking to our new Airmen First Class, the manager returned to our table with 3 bowls. In each bowl was ice cream sandwiches, and he congratulated my son in law. Now that was so nice!

From Day one of being in San Antonio, TX we were showered with love from this place! My husband and I have only been here 3 weeks, but we went back like 4 times already because the food is off the chain!!! The ribs are MUST HAVE, and I got the chicken tenders which were crispy but moist at the same time. My husband had the chicken tacos meal and I had the rib with chicken tenders and the ribs are so soft the meat just falls off the bone! Definitely going to be a regular here!!!!

We did a random Google search for lunch on Friday, and this is who won. The inside is surprisingly pretty big for a strip mall location. They have alcohol and beer for those of us who enjoy a tasty drink. Since it was our first visit, the young lady waiting on us was very helpful and answered all of our questions. I got the lunch special 2 chicken strips w/fries and a drink, and my spouse got the chicken and waffles. The food was fantastic. We both chose mild seasoning. It added great flavor without setting our mouths on fire. The fries were also on point. Cooked well and seasoned. We look forward to coming back to try something else!

What a great experience! Our family came in around 7:30pm and the team working immediately welcomed us and helped us order since it was our first time. We ordered the ribs, chicken and waffles, Mac and Cheese, sweet potato fries, and kids tender meal all for a reasonable price. Top it off with their ice sandwich to share. The food was amazing and the drinks even better! We had the world’s pickiest 3 and 1 year old and both kids ate all of their food. Kudos to the Cookshack team: Anden, Ezekiel, and Brandon! Our family will definitely be back!

Great atmosphere and awesome food! My other half has the Rib Sandwich with a side of fries (the fries have a KICK if you like it spicy!) and I have the Sleezy Chicken with medium heat. Next time I’ll go Texas Heat because I didn’t really feel any of the heat.

Dinner Chicken and Waffles were on point. I would recommend choosing the honey mustard dipping sauce w em. Also, I love the Texas Heat but I feel like it kinda of distracted me from the chicken and waffle complementary flavors so I will probably refrain next time. It's the kind of spice with a good balance of flavor. Not nuke your mouth hot. Everything was great. The waitstaff was highly attentive. 10/10 will go again!

First Time Visit – Great Food & Friendly Service! Stopped by today for lunch with my dad — we wanted to try something new, and we’re so glad we did! From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us with genuine warmth. We mentioned it was our first visit, and a friendly gentleman took the time to explain the menu and how everything works, which was really helpful. The young lady at the register was also incredibly welcoming. I ordered the chicken tenders and fries, plain (naked), and wow — the tenders were perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The fries were golden, crisp, and seasoned just right. It’s honestly the best crispy chicken I’ve had in a long time! My dad went with the rib sandwich at medium heat. He really enjoyed it and mentioned he’d like to try it without the bread next time to focus more on the meat. To top it all off, we were treated to complimentary ice cream sandwich bites toward the end of our meal — one with a butterscotch oatmeal cookie and the other a classic chocolate chip. Both were absolutely delicious! If you’re craving crispy chicken and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, definitely give this place a try. We’ll definitely be back!
